Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters. Here's exactly how JSON Reader Online handles your data — spoiler: we don't.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
Overview
JSON Reader Online (jsonreaderonline.com) is a free, open-source tool for reading, formatting, validating, and converting JSON data. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect (very little) and how we use it.
Your JSON Data
We never see, collect, store, or transmit your JSON data. All JSON processing — formatting, validation, minification, repair, tree rendering, and conversion — happens entirely in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your data never leaves your device.
- No data is uploaded to any server
- No data is stored in any database
- No data is logged, cached, or tracked
- No data is shared with any third party
Local Storage
We use your browser's localStorage to save your theme preference (light or dark mode). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Cookies
JSON Reader Online does not set or use any cookies — no tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. None.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service. We do not track your browsing behavior, clicks, or usage patterns. We do not fingerprint your browser.
Third-Party Services
The site loads fonts from external CDNs (jsDelivr) for the Geist typeface. These services may log standard HTTP request data (IP address, user agent) as part of normal CDN operations. We have no access to or control over this data. You can block font loading with browser extensions if desired.
External Links
Our site may contain links to external websites (e.g., the JSON specification, GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Children's Privacy
JSON Reader Online does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no personal data, there is no age-specific concern.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect email addresses, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
